Micromax has come back from its hiatus with a new smartphone for the Indian market, the Micromax Dual 5.
The Micromax Dual 5 has a full metal body with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3, 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, 4GB RAM, and 128GB storage.
The Dual 5 has two 13 megapixel cameras on the back. One of them has a standard RGB color filter and the other can only capture monochrome images. The secondary camera can be used to capturing monochrome images but its primary function is to work along with the other camera.
The two cameras capture the same image, which is then combined to increase the level of light and detail in the image and also reduce noise. The secondary camera also helps enable effects such as shallow depth of field and 3D images and video. The rear camera also has phase detection autofocus, dual tone LED flash, Gorilla Glass lens cover, physical shutter key, and 4K video recording. The phone has another 13 megapixel camera on the front.
Other features include a fingerprint sensor, IR blaster, dual profile support, and 3200mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0, which charges it in 45 minutes.
The Micromax Dual 5 is priced at INR 24,999 ($385) and will be available starting April 10 with registrations starting today.
